Entrepreneur in Residence
The Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) program invites an experienced entrepreneur to engage with researchers, with the goal to foster a more entrepreneurial culture among them, encourage exploration of technology transfer opportunities, and establish collaboration with industry and connection with investors. The program targets PhD students, postdocs, and professors from the VCQ. Over a two week residency, the EIR will take part in scheduled and open meetings with individual researchers or teams, drawing on his extensive industry knowledge to provide insights into current industry challenges and opportunities. From these discussions researchers will gain a better understanding on how their work can fit into a commercial context, which will help them identify business ideas and collaboration partners. Additionally, the EIR will share success stories based on his collaborations with researchers, which illustrate the value and impact of bridging the gap between fundamental research and practical applications.
