Postdoc Position in the Quantum Particle Workgroup
Post-Doc position open in the www.quantumparticlegroup.at of Beatrix Hiesmayr at the University of Vienna: Quantum computers offer new ways of computing. This project will build the first quantum computer based on a single neutron. Neutrons form a quantum-mechanically bound system in the Earth’s gravitational field above a horizontal mirror (creating the confining potential well). They literally fall in steps. These discrete energy levels can be used as addressable states for a quantum computer. The aim of the project is to generate, manipulate and read out these single neutrons in order to perform a quantum computation achievable at ILL. We search for a person (Post-Doc level) that is interested to develop theoretical schemes in close collaboration with experimenters. Start can be from now on, it should be finished with January 2026 and the duration is 6 months.
